Birdies & Besties gives girls a consistent place to learn without feeling behind, outnumbered, or pressured to already know the game.
Coach-led sessions pair clear instruction with games, challenges, and time to connect. She develops golf skills at her own pace while learning how to reset after mistakes, encourage teammates, and enjoy the process of getting better.
What parents can expect

A former UNC Wilmington golfer and teaching professional, Deb makes instruction clear, encouraging, and genuinely fun. Her goal is to help every girl discover what she can do with a club in her hands and a supportive group beside her.

One hour each Saturday. A full month of momentum.

Parent questions
Know what to expect before her first Saturday.
Does my daughter need golf experience?
No prior tournament experience is expected. Tell us whether she is brand new, has tried golf, or already plays regularly, and a coach will confirm whether the current group is the right fit.
What skills will she work on?
Sessions can include full-swing fundamentals, putting, short game, basic rules and etiquette, practice habits, and age-appropriate scoring challenges.
Does she need her own clubs?
Let us know what equipment she already has when you inquire. The academy will confirm what she should bring before her first session.
How large is the group?
Group size can vary by session. Ask about current enrollment so the academy can explain the coaching format and available space.
What happens after I submit the form?
A Coastal Golf Academy team member will follow up with current availability, confirm fit, and explain the enrollment step.
Is this the same as Scratch Junior?
No. Birdies & Besties is a welcoming weekly girls group. Scratch Junior is Coastal Golf Academy's more advanced development pathway for serious competitive players.
