Ethan Castle brings his professional playing experience and expertise in teaching/coaching to Coastal Golf Academy.  Ethan acts as the Lead Instructor at Coastal Golf Academy where he gives lessons on a daily basis while also overseeing day-to-day activities at the Wilmington, NC location in Mayfaire Town Center. 

Ethan brings a unique perspective to athletic development as he has excelled in two sports.  As a young man, Ethan was a highly sought after baseball player.  He achieved great success as a middle infielder/hitter at the youth and high school level.  He was a highly recruited high school player who played baseball at Colorado State University.  After transferring to the University of South Carolina, Ethan suffered an injury that ended his baseball career.  

His love of sports led him to the game of golf while he attended the University of South Carolina.  His athletic ability and work ethic allowed Ethan to move from an average player who shot scores in the 90's to a scratch handicap in less than two years.  After finishing his college education, Ethan continued to improve his game and made the decision to turn professional at the age of 25.  Ethan played professionally from age 25-33, competing on various tours across the United States as well as playing professional events in Latin America and Europe.  Ethan continues to compete today as an Associate Professional of the PGA of America.  In the past two years, he has had many top finishes in Carolina PGA Section events.

In 2023, after moving from Phoenix, Arizona to Wilmington, North Carolina, Ethan teamed with his Coach, Steve Dahlby, to create and open the Coastal Golf Academy.  Ethan is instrumental in developing and building the business model that is used today at CGA. 

Ethan's background in both baseball and golf has helped him develop his teaching and coaching methodology.  He believes in having a solid preswing foundation to allow players to swing the golf club in an efficient manner while having the body move powerfully.  Ethan also prides himself on his expertise in short game shots and mental training.  Above all, challenging players to reach higher levels and driving them to improve is a feature of Ethan's coaching abilities.

Since opening Coastal Golf Academy, Ethan has worked with a number of highly skilled players including a former Arizona High School Player of the Year, several aspiring tour professionals and a number of North Carolina junior and high school players.  

Ethan lives in Wilmington, NC and is available for individual lessons, group instruction and corporate events at Coastal Golf Academy.
